A six to twelve month period aimed at helping, the candidate, to seriously discern a personal call from God to consecrate herself completely to Christ.
During this period the candidate learns to love Christ above all, to live in community and to detach herself from earthly posessions.
As a postulant the candidate wears a light blue "uniform" and a small crucifix symbolizing her desire to do God's will.
A two year period in which the novice studies, prays, and deepens her relationship with the Lord. During this period, the novice strives to grow in her understanding of the teachings, traditions and prayer life of the Catholic Church, the Sacred Scriptures, Constitutions and History of the Institute.
As a novice, she wears the blue habit and a white veil, a "pin" in the form of a monstance and a missionary crucifix.
At this time she is given a long white cape which she will wear during her adoration time before the Lord as long as she lives.
A six year period on which the young sister continues her formation and develops her sense of resonsibility to carry out the ministry of her religious Institute. During this six years, the sister is asked to continue with her studies and she is very much involved in the mission the Church has entrusted to the Eucharistic Franciscan Missionary Sisters: Faith Formation and Evangelization.
As a temporary vowed sister, she wears a blue habit, a blue vail and a "pin" in the form of a monstance, and a missionary crucifix. She is also given a silver ring signifying her commitment to Christ to live the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience for a period of three years and which she will renew year after year until she completes six years.
Final stage. Here the sister commits herself to live the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience for the rest of her life.
She continues with her studies and embraces the mission of this religious Institute. The sister vowed for life wears a blue habit, blue vail, a "pin" in the form of a monstance and a missionary crucifix. She is also given, at this time, a golden ring, on which a crucifix is engraved, signifying her commitment to Christ to live her vows as perfectly as she can for the rest of her life.
